“The icing on the cake, however, was left to trumpeter Damir Bačikin, who closed the evening with a breathtaking, stunningly theatrical realization of "Mysteries of the Macabre", G. Ligeti, for solo trumpet and 16 instruments (1977.)

LISTEN LOUD!

“Purple Haze” by Jimi Hendrix

Hannes Zerbe Jazz Orchestra Berlin

I was so happy to play the music of my youth, this heavy soulful blues that i was feeding on while going through some of the hardest years of my life, growing up in Serbia in the 90s. Listen to this sound as it celebrates and manifest the constant struggle, offering the safe place in the music, at least for the moments while it is being played. It took me to the most unbelievable places, i never dreamed i can visit: and it is far from over.

DAMIR OUT LOUD!

Check out the first track “Nina nana” by Damir Bačikin, from our new album “It is only in the dark, that shadows do not exist”

„Everything that has gone through Damir's life and musical upbringing comes to fruition in this album. Multiple influences, hard work and contemplation. With this top class band he has created an album that showcases great musical variety and emotional width. Above all, it's great to hear when someone finds his voice with the trumpet and in music. It's a long journey that has taken him there and I get the feeling it's nowhere near the end!”
